Alberto Del Rio was arrested and subsequently charged with a second degree sexual assault felony and aggravated kidnapping back in May.
The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion was indicted on charges of aggravated kidnapping on Thursday by a grand jury in San Antonio, TX. Pwinsider.com was able to obtain court documents.
The court order notes the primary charge as aggravated kidnapping. As of this writing, it’s not clear whether the sexual assault charge resulted in an indictment as well.
Per the report, a trial date has yet to be set, but Del Rio is slated to be arraigned on Friday after being out on a $50,000 bond. In Texas, a conviction for this crime in the first degree is punishable by a prison sentence ranging from 5-99 years or life imprisonment and/or a fine of up to $10,000.
If someone is found guilty of aggravated kidnapping in the second degree, they can face anywhere from 2-20 years in jail and/or a fine up to $10,000.
The victim alleged that the former WWE star grew enraged with her after accusing her of infidelity and he physically assaulted her. It was also alleged that after she would not admit to the infidelity that Del Rio “slapped her across the head” several times and “forced her to wear a dress and dance for him”
He also allegedly threatened to take the victim’s son and “drop him in the middle of the road somewhere.”
